Dear Spiritual Family,

Unity Co-Founder, Charles Fillmore, was once asked by a banker as he sought a loan to further the work of Unity in its early stages, “What kind of collateral do you have?” His immediate and very convincing reply was, “I have a rich and generous Father!” The loan was granted.

We might argue today that, at a minimum, the loan officer would ask to see the “last five bank statements” and the Social Security number of the “father.” To focus there would be to miss the point. Charles truly believed that he had the backing of Almighty God, his Father, and ours!

In this video message, we seek to teach the depth and faith of Charles and Myrtle which fostered the great New Thought Movement that we know as Unity. Literally millions of lives have been touched, directly and indirectly, because of their unwavering dedication to these principles and their willingness to prove them in their lives.

So how do we claim our rightful inheritance, our daily sustenance from our rich Father? We begin by following Jesus’ teaching of putting God first. We do this by quieting the “monkey mind” and trading the “thousand things” our little self would have us focus on, for “the active Kingdom of God.”

In a piece entitled “The Grace of Abundance,” that Mary discovered recently in our files, we read, “Divine Substance is man’s supply. Out of it he forms what he will, according to his faith and understanding. By entering into the silence, acknowledging divine substance, affirming his faith in, and oneness with it, man becomes conscious of substance.” This is classic Fillmore.

Continuing, “When man puts away the belief in the reality of matter, there follows a realization of presence of true substance, of which matter is a mortal concept. Hence this thought-stuff may be made active by holding an affirmation.” “The rich substance of the Kingdom of God is pouring its plenty, perpetually into my mind and affairs, and I am, in all ways, prospered.”

You are encouraged to affirm this statement of truth with heart, mind, and soul, allowing its fullness to bless and prosper you.

We close this video message with a prayer, that we too, hope you will spend time with – allowing time in the silence at its end. No doubt, as you call on our Elder Brother, Jesus, to join you in the prayer, you will more completely experience his love and support as you exclaim – “I have a rich and generous Father,” for indeed, you do!

We Love You,

Rev. Steve and Mary
