Dear Spiritual Family,
Greetings from Mary and Rev. Steve, gently situated in a beautiful mountain cabin in Nordegg, Alberta in the Canadian Rockies. We are on a journey with Mary’s sister, Fran, her brother, Bill, and their spouses. This week-long trip was a gift from Fran and Bob to the four of us, along with them.
They wanted us to experience much of what they came to see and appreciate over two decades ago when they toured the area in their motorhome. Pristine crystal blue water lakes, majestic mountains, bustling towns, and now the tranquility of this peaceful setting.
As I, Rev. Steve, sat alone in the cool mountain air on the porch just before dawn, I was swept up in a deep feeling of gratitude. As I reflected on the life of Mary and Frances and Bill’s sister, Betty, who passed recently, a deer appeared just a few feet away. She stopped and grazed on the grass near the end of the driveway, and then she was off into the darkness to experience her day.
A little later, Mary and I walked to the area where the deer had paused and found there a large stone with the image that you will find in this message. It is another precious reminder of how we are all connected.
As I shared with our children when I wrote them this morning, we have you here with us, taking in so much beauty and feeling our ongoing and deep connection with you.
Holy Spirit, thank You. Father, thank You. Jesus, thank You. Indwelling Christ, thank You. As we focus on You and “marinate” in the Love You constantly enfold us in, we are lifted to the Gates of Heaven – the Indwelling Kingdom of Your Light and Love and Peace. And we are grateful – what a gift You have given us all!
In this Love,
Rev. Steve and Mary
