Dear Friends,
Happy Mother’s Day. To all mothers of every kind, everywhere and “everywhen” – bless you and Happy Mother’s Day to you. You are love and you are loved.
I think it’s a beautiful thing that we have a day in America to honor mothers. And I love that in New Thought, we recognize and honor the Divine Feminine as It expresses in myriad ways to nurture and bless all of us.
My thoughts turn to some of the mothers I have known. My own “earthly mother, Jennie Faye,” her smile, her lovely red hair, her sense of humor and her tenderness. Margrete Simpson who taught me as a child, so much about unconditional love. My beloved wife, Mary, who loves our children and grandchildren so devotedly and fully and has plenty of love left over for all of us.
I am impressed too, to speak of Myrtle Fillmore, the Co-Founder and “Mother” of Unity. She writes to parents in How to Let God Help You, “It is truly wonderful to have children and to be truly awake in caring for them, that they may grow up in health and poise and assurance that they are God’s and that all things needful come through them and to them.”
It was Myrtle’s open mind and heart that enabled her miraculous healing and led the way for the Holy Spirit to initiate the great movement of Unity through her and Charles. It was her great love for Jesus and her resulting dedication to Truth that fostered the unfolding of this work that has healed and blessed so many over the years.
So Happy Mother’s Day, “Mother Myrtle” and all who have opened their hearts to help heal our world with love and understanding. We are the grateful beneficiaries as we receive your gifts now and always. Thank You Mother-Father God.
