Dear Ones,
This Sunday’s message will be somewhat different from the others. We want to offer you a bit of what is transpiring in our lives these days.
If you caught it in our most recent video message, Mary shared that we had a wedding in our family on October 15. In a small park near our home, at the creek’s edge, I (Rev. Steve) was privileged to officiate the wedding of our son, Adam, and his beloved bride Jessica. Though intentionally rustic in some regards, it was elegant in every possible way. Mary made sure of that. A great deal of planning (and trips to the craft stores) over the weeks leading up to the event ensured that it was so. Mother Nature did Her part by providing a glorious Fall Day. Your “retroactive” prayers and blessings sure did the trick! 😊
This vibrant, blended family includes six beautiful children whom we spent extra time with as the wedding weekend and subsequent honeymoon unfolded. (See the recent photo of the happy couple.)
Each day here begins with prayers for those of you on our prayer list along with visualizing harmony in our Nation and our World. We are blessed to stay in touch with many of you and have the opportunity to offer our support when needed.
As mentioned in former messages, we have family in Florida that have been affected by Hurricane Ian. We will be there the first week in November to do what we can to aid in the cleanup that is ongoing. As my brother in Ft. Myers put it recently, “Though the storm hit three weeks ago, much of the neighborhood still looks like it was just yesterday, but as a whole, great progress is being made.” The devastation there is unparalleled, but the relief and rebuilding efforts are indeed astonishing! Thank you for your ongoing prayers for these resilient, hard-working folks and all who serve there.
We anticipate a bit of R&R later in November but our weekly connections through the video and written messages of First Light Ministry will continue. Thank you, Tammy Lorriane, for your ongoing and vital role in making this possible. We are so grateful for this opportunity the Holy Spirit has provided. And we are full of gratitude for each of you and your loving support.
We Love You,
Rev. Steve and Mary
Best wishes and continued happiness for your son and daughter-in-law! It’s always so great to see your children happy.
I was on a Catastrophe Team for the Insurance Company I worked for 33 years. You’d be amazed how organized they are in mobilizing their people to handle storm damage claims. Truckloads of money are about to hit those damaged areas. We will rebuild. Dealing with the feelings associated with catastrophic loss is somewhat daunting though. Prayers for all those affected.
