Dear Spiritual Family,
On Friday you received an email from us regarding our upcoming mission trip to Western North Carolina to carry supplies and volunteer in the relief efforts there. Your response in support of our journey was immediate and miraculous!
Initially, after seeing the plight of our neighbors to the east and the north, we were impressed to give to organizations helping out there and then to make a trip with food and water to drop-off locations supporting the deep needs there. Soon after we knew there was more for us to do and thus the request we sent you on Friday, thanks to the quick work of Tammy Lorraine, our Texas Angel.
Because of your generosity, by late this Sunday afternoon, our 4Runner will be filled to overflowing with more food, water and cleaning supplies and other necessities for the hurting sisters and brothers there. In addition, you have provided sufficient funds to “refill” it again and again. THANK YOU for making this possible! We feel the prayerful support and love from all of you and humbly commit to be your hands and hearts in this endeavor.
God is our Source and God pours His Supply in great abundance through infinite channels. Please take a moment to acknowledge the channel of good that flows through you, through your life, in all the forms that good expresses, and the precious difference you make in this world.
There are many appearances that would draw our attention away from the true spirit of generosity, compassion, and love in today’s world. But we can choose to let our focus rest on this true spirit, understanding that what we focus on – expands. It is in evidence all around us. The heroic and selfless acts of so many, the giving of one’s financial good, the heartfelt prayers for the safety and well-being of others – for all of these things, together, we can be so grateful.
In Luke 6:38, Jesus’s teaching – “Give and it will be given you, good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap.” And in Matthew 25:40, “Verily I say unto you, inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.”
We love you,
Rev. Steve and Mary
