Dear Precious Spiritual Family,

That’s the name that the Christian world has given this week – “Holy Week.” Jesus speaks to it in A Course in Miracles in this way: “This is Palm Sunday, the celebration of victory and the acceptance of truth. Let us not spend this holy week brooding on the crucifixion of God’s Son, but happily in the celebration of his release. For Easter is the sign of peace, not pain. A slain Christ has no meaning. But a risen Christ becomes the symbol of the Son of God’s forgiveness on himself; the sign he looks upon himself as healed and whole.”

Would you consider making this week one in which you forgive? Jesus showed us what life can be like when we are unburdened from grievances.  With true forgiveness, love flows freely – blessing and healing everyone and everything in its path.

These past few weeks, we have been focusing on the mindful practice of letting go, of surrendering the negative feelings that we become conscious of. Dr. Hawkins calls it, “removing your inner blocks to happiness, love and success.”

What better time to do such work than “Holy Week?” Will we be more “holy” at the end of the week, when the sun finds your beautiful face on Easter morning? No, we can never be more holy than we already are, but we can become more aware of this truth – more conscious of the inherent holiness of each and all of us. To pursue this awareness is the worthiest endeavor. The more we tap into it, the lighter and happier we become.

Perhaps the heightened energies of Holy Week can offer a richer backdrop for looking more compassionately on our lives and those of others, knowing that at every turn, we/they have done the best we’ve known to do.

“The risen Christ” of which Jesus speaks, gives us hope that can provide the impetus to look upon ourselves as healed and whole. The act of surrender encouraged by Dr. Hawkins and scores of other great spiritual teachers through the ages opens the gates of Heaven found within each heart. Happy Holy Week, dear Holy Beings.

We love you,

Rev. Steve and Mary
