Dear Spiritual Family,

We recently saw a cartoon that showed a customer in a bookstore being offered a book entitled, How to Solve 50% of Your Problems. He bought two!

“If it were only that easy,” we might exclaim. No doubt, all of us deal with “problems” everyday – “problem people, problem situations, problem body parts, problem thoughts and feelings” – the list is long. What if we are, consciously or unconsciously holding on to the one problem, that if solved, would set us free, would have us living more in a state of true happiness?

There is a Lesson in A Course in Miracles entitled “My grievances hide the light of the world in me.” What if holding grievances is the source of our problems? In the days following the passing of my (Rev. Steve’s) brother, we have had many opportunities to face some of “those” problems that often arise in the midst of grief and confusion. It is part and parcel of living in this earth realm.

So how do we find peace with whatever problems may be present for us? Simply, we make more room for God – for the spirit of Love through “letting go” of grievances. The Christ within, the Self, always stands at the ready to be revealed and experienced. It is forever prompting us to let go of the ego in favor of our inherent Reality.

Dr. David Hawkins writes, “It is not necessary to know about the Self but simply to become it by letting go of the non-Self. The realization comes about as a subjective transformation. The key to transcending the inherent limitations of the ego/mind is humility, without which the mind is hopelessly trapped in its illusory house of mirrors.”

In next week’s video message, we will offer a guided meditation that focuses on “moving past” our grievances to find the light of Self. In the meantime we encourage you to practice the “Letting Go” technique we have been working with in this current series.

Thank you for your loving thoughts and prayers. We love you all so much,

Rev. Steve and Mary
