Dear Spiritual Family,

Happy Mother’s Day! Thank you mothers, adoptive mothers, stepmothers, foster mothers, and all other mother figures in every form. God bless you.

And thank You, Mother-Father God. Without You, we wouldn’t be here at all! Yet here we are, celebrating another important day when our focus rests on creation, nurturing, and love.

As we contemplated our message to you this week, it was a busy time in Vatican City as the appointed Bishops gathered to elect a new Pope. As the white smoke rose from the chimney of the Sistine Chapel, the thousands gathered there erupted in great joy. Our collective prayer is that Pope Leo XIV will be an equally great spiritual leader for Catholics around the world.

As I, Rev. Steve, reflected on the week’s events, Mother Mary was prevalent in my mind. I thought about her “soul-agreement” to take birth and play the role of Jesus’ mother. Obviously, here was a very enlightened being contracting with another very enlightened being that would be known as Jesus.

We all, of course, have one Creator, the One who gave birth to our Spirit, the very Essence that we are. And each of us has an earthly mother who “contracted” with us in another realm so that we might have a “vehicle” through which to express – ideally, that we might use this life experience to remember our Divinity and that of others, for each of us is immaculately conceived in the Mind of God.

This is a more mystical view of motherhood. And it places us in a position, perhaps, to feel an even deeper appreciation for our mothers, their willingness to take birth so that we could also take birth.

When we are willing to rise in consciousness above the everyday challenges we encounter we can find fresh and rewarding perspectives on life. Doing so can lighten our mood and make room for true forgiveness, great love, and joy.

As you celebrate this Mother’s Day in a way unique and perfect for you and those you hold dear, please feel our love for you, our celebration of your taking birth – One with the Heart of the Mother, One with the Heart of Love,

Rev. Steve and Mary
