Dear Spiritual Family,

The video message that accompanies this piece varies a great deal from what you typically receive from us at First Light Ministry.

Essentially, what is offered here in writing is my, Rev. Steve’s, opening in the video. Our hope is that this will be helpful to you in light of the tragic events in the Middle East over the past week.

Father. Jesus. Holy Spirit….Come and comfort me. Come and comfort us. Come and comfort all who are hurting.

This past week, the world witnessed great horror in Israel. Unspeakable acts of depraved minds befell women and men and children and the elderly.

The fanaticism of hate was on full display to the world. Families torn apart in deep anguish over the deaths, severe injuries and destruction. Many, fearful that their loved ones have been taken hostage. Hundreds of innocent Palestinians lost and injured as well because of the tyranny of the terrorists.

And those of us who are part of this world family are hurting as well. The images that cross our media are heart-breaking. Anger and disillusionment, confusion and hopelessness seem to be the order of the day. So, what can we do?

We can turn to God. We can turn to Truth.

Let’s do that now.

Father, help me know that You are here with me and those close to me. Help me know that You are present with all who suffer such loss. Help me know that You hold safe and whole within Your very Spirit all those who have crossed the threshold from this earthly plane. Thank You, Father. Amen.

As I sought the comfort of the Holy Spirit in the early morning hours, I felt my heart begin to soften. The vision was given to me of the children, even the infants, of their mothers and fathers, sisters and brothers and grandparents, uncles and aunts, saying: “My soul is eternal. I know that now. Yet, would I have the world awaken to the fruitlessness of hatred, the useless desire to eliminate my race from the planet.”

I feel incredible gratitude for these Beings, these precious “heroes of Heaven.”

And gratitude for You, Holy Spirit, that comes to each of us, no matter the words or the language we use to bring You close, to feel the comfort of Your Presence.

Jesus, you taught that in the world we will have tribulation. In these times we are witnessing this tribulation in many places and with so many people. Yet, you have given us hope. “But take courage, I have overcome the world!” (John 16:33)

Yes, and you are the embodiment of the Holy Spirit. We can close our eyes and feel you gently holding us close to you, feeling your Love and compassion. We can see you close to those we love, to those we do not know and we can feel the peace you sought and seek still to bring. Thank you, Beloved Friend.

In the message from us that follows and in the concluding prayer, again, our hope is that you feel the peace of God for yourself and all for whom you pray.

We love you,

Rev. Steve and Mary
