In this message, we offer a process that helps one transform the energy of stress, confusion, upset, etc. It is an adaptation of author and teacher, Arnold Patent’s “Three-Step Process.” We have used it effectively, numerous times over the years.

  1. Place your attention on the feeling while releasing any labels (such as fear, anger, or guilt) about the feeling. Just be with the energy of the sensation without judgment. (It can be helpful to “feel” this feeling in your solar plexus.) Take your time here.
  2. Bring your attention to your heart. Use the power of gratitude and appreciation to open your heart and focus on the feeling, the energy of love. Allow that feeling to expand. Again, take your time.
  3. Now, gently “move” that feeling in the solar plexus area into your heart where the energy of love transmutes it. Breathe in and relax.
We always close the exercise with: “Holy Spirit, shine the Light.” This helps us release the process to Spirit and know that it is being handled from the Highest energies of Love.

We are holding each of you in that Light. We see you whole and happy and completely loved and loving – the Holy Child of God that You are!

We love you,

Rev. Steve and Mary

Going Deeper

If you would like to take this message deeper, here are two questions you can work with. Use these in your own self-reflection or in discussion with others.

  1. Is it possible to see the major challenges our world is facing as motivation for doing our spiritual work instead of a “What’s the use” attitude? How can the Holy Spirit help in such work?
  2. When Jesus said in John 16:33 (Lamsa Version), “These things I have said to you that in me, you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but have courage, I have overcome the world,” what does “I have overcome the world” mean to you?  And, “what things” has Jesus said in the Gospels or in A Course in Miracles that bring you peace?

We would love to read your thoughts in the comments below.

Good morning Revs. Mary and Steve! Thanks for your message this morning. The mustard seed verse had deep meaning for my mother. I never thought of he as particularly deep but this memory of her talking about this verse and pointing to the tip of her little finger and saying “you only need this much faith” made me see her differently this morning. This is how she overcame the world, I think.
This was only one of my insights this morning. Thanks so much for all of them!

1Samuel 30:6-8 tells of how David encouraged himself in the Lord even when his own troops wanted to stone him. He pursued, overcame and recovered all that he had lost.
