Dear Spiritual Family,

Happy Memorial Day Weekend. This time of year we remember and honor those who have served to protect our freedoms and given all in terms of their physical lives.

We hope this unofficial start of Summer will be good for you and your loved ones. Our grandchildren have completed another school year and just before writing this, Mary and I spent a good bit of the day with two very active young ones at the park. More vitamins, please! 😊😊

In this week’s video message, Mary refers to a most useful spiritual tool we have employed over the years in ministry and in family. It comes to us from our Teachers, Jesus and the Holy Spirit. In Chapter Five, Section VI of A Course in Miracles, “Your patience with your brother (fill in – Sister, Mother, Father, Child, Grandchild, et.al.) is your patience with yourself. Is not a child of God worth patience? I have shown you infinite patience because my will is that of our Father, from Whom I learned of infinite patience….Now you must learn that only infinite patience produces immediate effects.” For those who have experienced our teaching over the years, you may remember how often we have taught this important lesson.

The title of today’s message, “The Higher Court of the Holy Spirit,” as you might guess is also inspired by ACIM. Jesus is referencing a Scriptural quote by the Apostle Paul in this same section of A Course, “Remember the Kingdom always, and remember that you who are part of the Kingdom cannot be lost. The Mind that was in me, is in you, for God creates with perfect fairness. Let the Holy Spirit remind you always of His fairness and let me teach you how to share it with your brothers.”

Here, Jesus offers clarity around the ego and the Holy Spirit. I, Rev. Steve, speak to this in the video message. Essentially, when the ego makes a case against you (or someone else,) rather than “relying on the judgment of the ego,” we are instructed to take it to a higher court where the Holy Spirit “reverses the decision.”

A somewhat lighter way to think about it, when you or I hear from “the lower court” making all sorts of judgments against us, we can simply say, “I’m taking you (ego – monkey-mind, ‘personality-self’) to the Higher Court of the Holy Spirit where I will always be found innocent – seen and valued as the Child of God that I AM.”

These two spiritual tools are invaluable in bringing more peace and joy to our earthly lives and will no doubt come in handy whenever we step through the veil into our next experience of eternal life! Peace and Blessings for a beautiful Summer.

We love you,

Rev. Steve and Mary
