Dear Spiritual Family,

Happy New Year! We hope that your Christmas was one that touched your heart and one that offers many joyful memories.

As we write this piece to you, we are in our stateroom, looking out at the peaceful waters of the Caribbean Ocean. We were invited to a Christmas cruise with Mary’s sister, her husband, her younger brother, and his wife.

And as we pause to think of the year ahead and what we might share with you, we are guided by Jesus’ wisdom in A Course in Miracles. The question arose in my, Rev. Steve’s, mind, what might we offer that could serve as a guide for the New Year? What “Divine Tool” could we employ to make the coming days and months more peaceful and more aligned with our true nature?

Father, it is your peace that I would give, receiving it of You. I am Your Son, forever just as you created me, for the Great Rays remain forever still and undisturbed within me. I would reach to them in silence and in certainty, for nowhere else can certainty be found. Peace be to me, and peace to all the world. In holiness were we created, and in holiness do we remain. Your Son is like to you in perfect sinlessness. And with this thought we gladly say, “Amen.”

(Lesson 360)

The question might well be asked, “what kind of magic wand will grant me such a year, one that is deeply peaceful?” Each of us, you see, has what we are calling here, “A Miracle Wand.” It is always available to us, in any situation, in every place. It is the miracle of forgiveness, the miracle of right-seeing. And if we are willing to regularly, dedicate time and intention to meditate on the Great Rays within, we will find the spiritual strength and the true power to experience the effects of our miracle “wand–waving.”

Of course, there will be times when we wave a different metaphorical wand. The “tool” of judgment or self-doubt, of anger or guilt. The theme of grandiosity or hate may present itself. We will often need to call on the Father, the Mother, on Jesus, on the Holy Spirit or our Guardian Angels to help us. And we are wise to do so for we need to be reassured that we are not in this alone.

There will be times when we are absolutely convinced that this person or that group of people are just plain wrong. But our Self, the indwelling Christ is always there to offer a higher view, a spiritually in tune view, that says in essence, “reach within for the Miracle Wand of Forgiveness and touch this person, this situation, your own heart, with It.” “Your peace is there.”

So as the year draws to a close, we hold for all of us a year that is truly happy, that is filled with this kind of “Wand-Waving,” a year that is centered in the Peace of God.

We love you,

Rev. Steve and Mary
